03. Polyester Clear Topcoat 2149 (H&V)

The PPV2149 is a clear paraffined polyester formulated for applications with curtain coaters. The product contains a seasonally balanced paraffinating  to ensure the best results with all weather conditions. If it’s necessary to make a correction in the application cycle, it may be performed with the following paraffin solutions:

• 4127 paraffin solution  15 – 20° C.
• 4128 paraffin solution  18 – 30° C.
• 4132 paraffin solution 28 – 33°  C.

The quantities and types of correction paraffins should be calculated with the assistance of Sirca’s technical personnel. As far as concern it, we recommend always to keep an eye on the date of manufacture in order to avoid  using products that were tested with paraffining for climatic conditions which were different to those of the application. Ppv2149 can be applied on all flat surfaces.  Please remind that some of flat surfaces have to be prepared for a better result of the cycle.
IN PARTICULAR

• On exotic timbers, rich in oily substances or tannin, or on dark   backgrounds or those having colorants which are  not   compatible with the polyesters, it is necessary to use a suitable   insulation, as fpi35s06, to prevent phenomena of bad   polymerization, flaking or silvering.

• On  melamine or phoenolic papers, it is necessary to apply a suitable fpi33- or fpi33s01-type insulation/adhesive, with ct154 at 50%, to ensure perfect adhesion.

Curing times, sanding and adding a gloss finish are strongly influenced by the application and hardening temperatures; The data stated refers only to 20°C. and, for low temperatures, can be lengthened significantly. In particular, please remember that the process of adding a gloss finish requires a perfectly hardened film, therefore buffing carried out too quickly may lead to removals between the  applied polyester coats. Finally, we recommend storing the product in environments with temperatures above 15 – 18° C., to avoid crystallisation of the paraffin, which can lead to the formation of small holes during application

STORAGE
keep in a fresh and well ventilated place. Do not exceed 25 – 28° C. Keep accelerating agents and catalysts separate.
